My nickname is also Cheese, so I just had to try this recipe when looking for the perfect homemade mac & cheese. Only 3 of us and had enough leftovers for the next night. I used white american cheese instead of cheddar cheese because of preference. I mentioned something about this to my husband and in typical boy fashion responded with a why dont you just make macaroni and cheese with cut-up hot dogs?. Im not a huge fan of the boxed macaroni and cheese. Only change, no meat - as none in the house, did half milk - half evap milk, added dry mustard to cheese sauce, and topped with sauteed green onions, tomatoes, and Italian breadcrumbs. And thats too funny what your hubby said, mine always says the SAME THING about mac n cheese and hotdogs!
